Rotterdam (Klassik.TV) – Stéphane Dorin, Professor for Sociology at the University of Limoges, has bad news concerning the development of classical audiences in Europe. His extensive survey sheds a light on the current state. The results: Audiences don’t change their preferences when growing older. Who hasn’t been familiarized with classical music at a fairly young age will also not go to a concert or opera house later. Stéphane says the only cure is to take measures now. Musical education and new showcases in classical music being the most important among them – and – the sooner the better.
